Refinishing Colt .45

What are your suggestions for refininishing my old Colt .45ACP? It's a early-mid '60s commercial model. I've owned it well over 20 years and am thinking of refinishing it. The original blue is about 50% gone.

Their finish is very similar to the Roguard finish, but you get much faster turnaround. (The owner, Mark, is also a very good gunsmith.)

Look at the FINISHES area, then scroll to the botom and click on the METACOL Photo Gallery.

Several of my shooting buddies have had their guns done there, and really like the finish. Seems to be very durable.

(Another acquaintance had his Browning Hi-Power totally redone there -- action job, refinish, etc. He loves it.)

Short of hard chrome, which would be my first choice, Metacol may be a next choice.
