New 16Ga 870?

I spotted two new 870 16 GA this last weekend. Remington decided to bring the 16Ga back? Hot damn. They decide to make a 11-87 in 16 Ga and I am buying one. Anyone have one of these 870's in 16?? The dealer only wanted $259 new synthetic.

Was it on a "true" 16ga receiver or a 12 ga frame stepped down??

Remington must have the factory geared-up for the "off" gauges. I dunno about 16ga but a few weeks ago I was in a store that had three each of new 870 Express shotguns in .410 and 28ga. They may have had sixteens that I just didn't notice. I need to double check, my impression was the 28ga was built on the diminuative .410 frame - it was the cuttiest little pump I'd ever seen. -- Kernel

It appeared to be a 12 Ga frame with a 16 barrel based on my own experiences with my 870 Express 12 Ga.

That's too bad----I would have bought one if they had done it the right way.
