Nickel 25-2
I recently bought a S&W Model 25-2 nickel plated revolver. Can anyone tell me how many of this model were nickel plated?
Thanks |

I'm not sure if that information is even available other than possibly through the factory, and even they may not know.
The nickle plated 25s were regularly offered for quite a few years, so the number is probably pretty substantial.

And Fjestad's blue book shows no premium for 25-2 in Nickle. That would also indicate to me that quite a few were produced with nickle finish.

BBQ gun MAYBE, given the high acid content of some BBQ sauces.
But a courting gun? You NEVER show up at a "target's" house with a shiny gun. It's gaudy, and gives the target's father the impression that you're a dandy just looking for the quick score. A deep, rich blue conveys a sense of formality, and more importantly, indicates that you have a serious, stable, nature.

I thought a Bar-B-Q gun or courtin' gun was a fully engraved nickeled N Frame with ivory pouncing cougar grips with inlaid ruby eyes housed in a flower carved buscadero style rig.
