My first mule deer
Last week I shot my first mule deer. He was a 4x4, good size, and the hunt was awesome. It is a different way to hunt than what I am used to out on the east coast, kinda hard to cover 7000 acres on foot.
I used a 7mm STW, loaded with a 160 gr Nosler Partition over 80 grs. of Reloader 25. The Nosler bullet worked really well for our party, even the guys shooting -06 had good results. On another note, thank you to the folks out in Montana. You have a beautiful state and friendly people. Plus, your gunstores are stocked to the gills with everything one could imagine, with employees who were more than willing to help a customer out. Can't say the same for many of the gun stores out east that I have visited. I tried to post the photo, but it is too big. |
