A round of applause for the twenty-somethings
This weekend was the first real public debut of the Wisconsin CCW group's efforts at drumming up support. Last night, a former anti who a couple of years ago saw the error in his thinking worked the table for our group. Earlier in the week, this same young man spent two days on the road distributing literature.
At the gun show today, two TFL members stopped by to discuss the direction our group should take, and how they will help. Both were in their twenties (well, one was maybe approaching thirty). The volunteer who's working the shift tomorrow is of the same age group. There were countless twenty-somthing's I talked to today who are on fire to pass CCW laws here in Wisconsin. I saw and spoke to dozens of young couples, babies in tow, who clearly see the perils that "common sense" gun legislation will lead to. Oftentimes, the old geezers like me on TFL dismiss the new generations as disconnected from the principles of the Constitution we were all raised to respect. After today, I think that we're in good hands. Just a positive observation in what is sometimes a gloomy subject area. Thanks, dudes.

Congratulations! Keep up the effort. MN has an organization called CCRN that has been working for YEARS to get shall-issue passsed. Its been a tough road, but significant progress has been made. This past session a law was passed to record all granted and denied permits state-wide. This will provide the evidence needed for either a discrimination lawsuit or the legislature (specifically the liberal senators) to re-think their stance on a person's right to self-defense.
It seems to me that the WI constitution has a provision for RKBA. I hope that you pursue that course as well. I wish you the best of luck! May FREEDOM reign!!!

Giving credit where it's due ... good one, Monkeyleg.

As it has been said, "The Truth shall set you free!" Thanks for spreading the "truth" Monkeyleg. People need only open their minds to see the folly of "sensible" legislation.

I have a pet theory ... more of a simple hope, really.
Young people have a natural tendency to rebel. Drives both them and adults nuts quite often, but it has a lot of benefits. My theory is that our over-regulated, anti-self defense, over-taxed, Bill-of-Rights-trivializing society might just create a backlash among our younger citizens. Some of these younger folks may be awakening to what is being lost ... I can hope ... Congrat's on finding some pearls. Good luck. Regards from AZ

Good news indeed.
It looks like all the brainwashing is not having the effect the antis expected. A tip 'o the derby to you folks in Wisconsin for getting the ball rolling there. |
