Custom front bead sights for REVOLVER

Wish to have some brass beads in some sites I have
replaced with Gold. I had an article 'somewhere'
that listed 'smiths that do this. The sites are removable so I would only need to send them.

HELP ? .....THANKS....dewey

Dewey, some are and some aren't. More than likely it's not but what revolver are we talking about? George

dewey,

I wonder if a local jeweler might be up to the task. Especially those that make 1 of a kind custom stuff...

Clark's should install gold beads in your sights for you.

Hey Dewey...FWIW, I KNOW both Novak's in W.VA. and Cylinder and Slide in Nebraska do the "Gold Bead" installations...not cheap, however...let us know how it (they-?) turn out!!!....mikey357

George,

How much do you charge for this? If one had, for instance, a S&W that missing a front sight, and one wanted a gold front blade installed?

Dewey,

Have you considered asking J. B. Lacher in Greenville? They are about a block off main street and run a manufacturing jeweler's operation.

Good Luck!

Spectre, it would depend on the model. S&W offers gold beads in some partridge sights for about $45. But to have inserts or something on that line done I'd probably take it to a jeweler. You might be able to use something like the Bonanza gold inlay kit for this but I don't know how it would hold up. George

cheap plate route

I decided to have a local jeweler, thanks Clemson,
try plateing it first in a couple layers of 14K>
The expert said that 14 polishes up higher and
should reflect more light. HEY ! $20.Thanks to
all and will let you know. Oh, the first one is for a S&W 627PC 5 inch so the recoil shouldn't be too bad...dewey
