I reload 62scbt rounds with 26.1gr of WC844. This is an exact Military duplicate charge but I'm not sure how hot of a load it is. Can anyone tell me what the MAX load is for WC844. I can't find any info on this powder. On the 8lb container I got from Wideners it says 26.1 for 62gr bullets and thats it. No more Info!

I wouldn't go much hotter than that. You're already looking at 3100-3250fps depending on your barrel, which is about as fast as those bullets will go.

Not sure how it performs out of a barrel shorter than 20". BTW, WC844 is listed by Wideners as performing similarly to H335 (though there a about 5 powders in that range that all perform almost identically in the .223). H335 is very similar to 748 or Ball(C)2, but a little faster so usually a grain or so less. Since 27 grs of 748 flattens primers pretty good,I wouldn't go too much hotter with the WC844. Just keep raising the charge weights by .1 grain and see where you're comfortable with the primer flattening. Ask on http://www.ar15.com 's reloading forum if you don't get anymore info here.

I'm really only concerned with how many times I should reload the brass. If 26.1gr is a hot load then I'll chuck the brass after the 3rd time. I've been reloading with this stuff for about 3 months and just didn't want to push it.
