I am looking for peep sights for a hawken.
I have seen many which are tang-mounted, but this is darn silly, in my opinion, since the tang is only loosely connected to the barrel with a hooked breach design!! you might as well just make a sight out of Jell-O! does anyone make a peep sight that fits on the barrel, perferably where the rear blade sight normally goes? any with an aperature big enoguh to use that far away from the eye? |

Williams makes a barrel mount rear sight, that can have a peep aperture added, since William's use the same size dovetail for their sight blades and peeps.
Assuming you have a flat top barrel, you'd need a WGOS Guide Open Sight, flat base, #962-650, OR a WGOS/Dovetail Lock base that fits the existing rear barrel dovetail, and locks in place, #962-614-350. You would probably use a Ghost Ring Aperture #962-100-901. All of this and more can be found at Brownell's at: http://www.brownells.com However, a peep mounted sight that far forward may not work really well. However, again, the 1903 Springfield had a barrel mounted peep feature on it's sight, and Williams is selling a peep sight that fits on the AK-47 barrel, soooo. |
