Sen. Jeffords switching parties! (Or is he?)

It's not officially confirmed, but ABC News on the radio is reporting it as if it's a done deal.

According to the radio news break I heard just a few minutes ago, Sen. James Jeffords, elected from Vermont as a Republican, is about to switch to the democRATic party. No one connected with him is responding to the press except to say no comment, which the press is interpreting to be 'yes, but we won't announce it until we're ready'.

Everyone in Vermont should contact his office and express your displeasure (outrage?). Contact info is available on his Senate web site at http://www.senate.gov/~jeffords/ .

Isn't the other Vermont Senator (can't remember his name) an admitted (Marxist) Socialist?? Jeffords probably wants to join the "party" with his butt buddy.

Jay, I think you're referring to their House rep, Bernie Sanders. He's listed as an "Independent" on the House roll, but he's a member of the Socialist party. (Vermonters, feel free to correct me.)

What's the difference between the democratic party and the socialist party? The democrats really should change their name to socialist as it would be more accurate.
