Ah, yes. I'd almost forgotten we had a local branch of the Bureaucratic Agency of Traitorous Felons here....

Reno police and agents from the local office of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms on Wednesday arrested two men in downtown Reno on suspicion of illegally purchasing firearms and possession of narcotics.

Agents were conducting an investigation into the alleged illegal straw purchase of firearms when they arrested the two men in a Sixth Street parking lot. Reno police discovered a small bag of marijuana in one of the suspect’s vehicle, said Reno ATF Agent-In-Charge Tom Cannon.

A straw purchase occurs when a person buys weapons through a third party to avoid a background check. Cannon said the two men were the only suspects in his agency’s investigation.

“Straw purchases are fairly common,” Cannon said. “It usually involves people from out of town who are prohibited from possessing firearms. They find somebody that can clear the background check, and who will go in and purchase the firearms for them.”

The identities of the men were not available.
Reno police will file narcotics possession charges against at least one of the men. Meanwhile the ATF will forward its recommendations for charges on the alleged illegal firearms purchase to the U.S. attorney’s office.

Formal federal charges could be filed within the next week, Cannon said.
Yeah, right. The two men were the only suspects. I bet there's a local gun shop under investigation now.....
