Anyone out there reloading 147gr for 9mm? I tried my first batch today with 3.3 of W231 and was quite pleased with it, the recoil in my 92FS was almost non-existent. I think I will work up a batch for Steel Challenge with the heaver slug, it should still have enough energy to knock the plates over even going slower.

Some (not much call for it).

Seems like you've got your load fairly dialed in. I'd stay right there.

W231 and TiteGroup generate some good velocity with little recoil. If it's working, don't mess with it.

But Universal or Power Pistol wil get you more velocity in the 9mm case.

I am using the same load with the 147 grain magnus truncated cast bullet. This was the starting load recommended by winchester and I have had excellent results with this load in my Browning hipower.-Cliff

Yup. I cast my own RCBS 9mm 147 gr TC with flat base. Best load I've got in the 9. I don't recall the load as I'm not at the bench right now (so sad). I've also used the Lyman 358311 (158 gr RN) with excellent result. Seems like I used 231 or Green Dot. sundog
