Finished my build

Ok, finally finished my AR-15 build. Took me a while and made a few changes along the way.


Yankee Hill Upper
16" chrome-lined barrel; chambered 5.56; 1:9 twist
Mid-length gas
M16 BCG
Troy ambidextrous charging handle
Troy low-profile gas block
Magpul Gen2 MBUS back-up sights
Magpul angled fore grip (AFG)
Lantac Dragon muzzle brake
Aimpoint PRO red dot sight
Spikes Tactical lower
CMMG lower parts kit; will be installing a Timney trigger soon
LWRC Advanced Trigger Guard
Spikes Tactical ST-T2 buffer, tube, and spring
Magpul MOE milspec stock
Magpul B.A.D. Lever
Ergo grip

Build cost: $1,650

Finishing is good - very nice. Don't shoot - I surrender.

But spec #1 on an AR description should be chambering.
Spec #2 should be barrel length
Spec #3 should be gas system length

All are missing. Sure the pic tells us most, but it would be nice to have the full description, as pics can often be deceiving.

OK, you said M16 BCG, so that's chambering at least....

Range report

Ok, here's a quick range report:

It was easy to zero. In fact, it was almost dead on from the first shot. I was really surprised.

She fires flawlessly. No FTF/FTE. Shooting Wolf Gold 3.5" standing 10 round groups at the NRA HQ 50 yard indoor range. Recoil is ridiculously smooth and near-zero muzzle rise. It's loud, louder than the usual muzzle brake, but it's manageable.

She's a keeper.

The YHM upper (w/ BCG and charging handle) was $575 and the Aimpoint was $400
