Glock 42

Second trip to the range today and ran another fifty rounds of wolf brown bear fmj. The only problem was I hit the magazine release button and I believe that this happened on the first trip as well. Going to have to make sure my fat thumb stays away until I want it to drop the magazine. Fun to shoot and would compare it to the Walther PK380 in regards to felt recoil. Groups were good at seven yards and I seem to be a little high and left.

I just picked one up today from Academy Sports. They are selling them for $429.99, but since I work there part-time, I got a considerably better deal. Was also able to pick up 100rd box of WWB 90gr FMJ and a box of Hornady 90gr FTX. Hope to put some rounds down range this weekend.

You have to be careful with the smaller guns. I find myself activating the slide lock with my thumb on a couple of micro pistols I own. Keep the updates coming on the G42!

Glock 42

I paid $450 for mine here in PA. Love the gun. Much easier to carry concealed than my G26. I have been shooting at 50 ft. on an indoor range to beat the cold weather. 50 feet seems long for a gun this small but it is surprisingly accurate and the recoil is very easy. I would buy this gun again in a heartbeat!

Those last two pics really tell the story on size of the 42.

Not to steal the thread but I'm digging the G32. Glad to see someone else with one. I carry one, used to be daily, but now it takes turns with my Colt series 70. If you haven't yet, take yours to an indoor range and watch the reaction to everyone else when you send a round down range. It definitely wakes the place up. They'll pay attention. Lol.

I got to handle one at GT Distributing yesterday. It felt really good in my hand. A guy in the store who has been on their waiting list 2 months asked how much longer. They told him another 3 months!

I got to shoot one today.

Very mild recoil, dead on at 15 yards for me, no function issues at all, typical Glock trigger... bet we'll see new connectors, etc., soon as Glock is going to sell a metric ton of these.

The city of Marietta in suburban Atlanta is issuing all their Police Officers GLOCK 42s as backup/off duty weapons.

Hmm interesting looks like supply might get sparse and the price might stay up for awhile.

If they decide to make it in .22 long rifle and the rimfire ammo drought softens I don't know who wouldn't want one. A low maintenance pocket plinker. Maybe they will offer a conversion kit for it someday. Man, don't you know it would sell!

Not a big fan of 380, (don't reload that one) but if they made a single stack 9 the same or close size... I WANT 2.
I haven't seen one yet so my opinions are wait and see but from your conclusions, if they don't make a 9 I may just have to start reloading 380

I like the pistol but find one thing humorous,,,

I like the pistol but find one thing humorous,,,

It took a Glock to turn people to accepting the .380 ACP as a viable defense cartridge.

I personally know three people who have always held that the .380 isn't viable,,,
Now those three people (Glock fanboys all) are loving the cartridge.

I had to chuckle a bit at that revelation.

I've found the same to be true with any mfg of gun. People do not try a particular cartridge because their favorite mfg doesn't chamber a certain type of gun in that particular caliber.

See it/hear it all the time at the gun counter. "Man I wish so and so mfg would make a gun like this..."

Aarond, people are strange. Cognitive dissonance rules.

Out of curiosity, is the 42 a blowback or locked breech design?
