Here is a picture of my M1A scout that has been lightly sporterized. Shorter muzzle brake and a fitted recoil pad. I bought it like this and have grown used to it, I guess I am going to leave it alone. I don't have any five round magazines, but it would be easy to block a 10 or twenty rounder to five for hunting.

Beautiful guns!

Mine is not so purdy with the black composite stock.

I got to try out the 5-round magazine, loaded with stripper clips and that all worked as smooth as silk.

The rear sight needed to be lubricated and assembled properly before it would adjust as it should. It seems to be OK now.
