Price Check on Glock Gen 4 17s

Been thinking about one (no I hate Glock, blah, blah - I have lots of them).

I see Bud's for $525 but Academy down the road goes for $529 and no FFL fun and games.

Thanks

GEM

Good price. They're usually going for about 549.

I prefer the 19, myself... but the 17 is a great gun. The 21 and 19 are my favs.

We pay $475 wholesale for Gen 4s, so, $525 seems fair.
For only $4 more I'd go with the local dealer.

I agree. For the extra 4 bucks I'd buy the one locally. $4 beats waiting for shipping and dealing with a separate FFL for sure. That's probably better than a lot of what you'll see even on armslist. Dang price gougers are ridiculous right now!!

I think people are failing to realize it's not "$4" difference... depending on what local sales tax is (here it's 10%) he's looking at $50 difference. Conversely, if you get free shipping, my FFL fee is $10 - so the cost savings could be substantial.

Still, I generally try to support local biz whenever possible and economically responsible. I don't see that price difference being too bad, depending on how impatient you are. I'm usually very impatient with new guns.

If the Buds price already has taxes rolled in then I'd agree. I've never ordered from BUDs so forgive my ignorance.

In Florida we have to pay sales tax either way.

Bud's $525 delivered + transfer fee
Academy $529 + 6.25 to 8.25% Texas sales tax (at least $562.06)

Same Form 4473 at both.

A LGS has them for $535 where I'm at. I always buy guns local to support the shops around me. In fact I'm trying to sell a CZ to fund a G26 puchase from a local shop.

Not sure if there's much price difference between a 17 and a 22, but I just bought a gen4 22 from my LGS for $479.

For some reason I'm thinking I can shoot a 22 ok, when I couldn't shoot the 17 I had for crap. Seems to me there's a name for that particular type of mental affliction.

Went to the gun show and there were 4th gen 17s for $539 with 3 magazines. To avoid fooling around I bought it - had to pay tax though.

But I got it now.

The Gen 4 Glocks in local stores by me have been priced $569+ tax. Sounds like a good price.
