Mom's are great.

So, came over to my parents after church to do some yard wok for Mom. In the process of clearing away and old rotted wood pile, so as to make nice long sweeps with the tractor. I come across a nest of little timber-rattlers, all curled up in a ball.

I quickly make my way to the house, and not wanting to track dirt and such inside, yell to my Mother if she could bring Pop's .410 single shot.

She makes her way to the cabinet where it is kept, and then, yells to me:

"Do you need trap loads or high brass?"

I don't think I've ever been more proud of my Mother before.

*Disclaimer: I don't support the wanton slaughter of snakes. However, venomous snakes warrant no quarter on a cattle farm, especially with assorted grand children about.

Mom's are great.

After that display of knowledge did you at least offer to let we shoot them?
