Guncrafter GI 50

I've been interested in this for quite some time. Does anyone have one of these? If so, how's the performance? The web site lists some new models, both in .45 and .50, including a Commander size. Getting near Christmas...

I think everything is a bit larger then a standard 1911 due to the larger .50 so if you planned on having it customized after the fact you could run into issues. They look nice I was skeptical of GI when they first came out but they seem to have been quite well received here on TFL. I know at least two ppl here have posted about theirs. Also the man who started GI came from Wilson or Nighthawk or something can't remember exactly I believe he was a master gunsmith.

I have also been interested however I think that 10mm is a better cartridge. That said, Guncrafter is a very nice gun on par with other high-end custom 1911.

If I were to order a gun in 50GI I would order a 45ACP barrel with the gun. Call it insurance.

If I had a lot of extra money, I would buy one in 50GI. I think it would be a fun gun to shoot. But they are expensive guns, and ammo is expensive as well and not readily available anywhere locally where I live. The same thing has kept me from getting a DE .50 or a S&W 500.

I don't own one but I have shot one. The only reason I don't own one is that I can't afford it. It's absolutely the sweetest 1911 I've ever handled and shot.

Period.
