Walmart AR-15

My local WM has a few ARs in stock. The 2 most expensive ones are Colts. One is $1167(6920) and the other over $1400. The 1167 one is the Magpul edition. Question is,
1-has Colt gone exclusively to Magpul, or can the previous LE6920 still be had?
2-And what is this $1400+ model?
3-Does anyone know what comes with the $1167 model? I heard someone say it came with 2 30 rd pmags, then I heard it came with 4.

Ask the clerk? At Walmart? Actually I only saw them through the display case. No clerk around.
I guess what I should have asked in my OP is, has anyone purchased one of these?

as far as I know colt has not gone to straight magpul furniture. the 6920 is their 'economy model' so it shouldn't be anything but a base, cookie cutter AR15. as for what the $1400 model is, that is anyones guess. depending on model Colts can go from $1000 to $3000 and there is a lot of in betweens.

Last Christmas I had a choice, at Walmart, between a stock 6920 for $1099 and a 6920-MP for $1157. I took the MP cause I saw no need for a carry handle and I new I wanted an optic. It cam with two MP 30rnders and a T-down front grip, which I haven't attached yet. For me it was an investment piece and a first time AR purchase.

I'm probably an oddball here but that's too bad they had to put all that Magpul furniture as standard. I like Magpul, just don't like their handguards.

Only some models use Magpul accessories.

The LE6920 is still available and is the model Colt most carried at Walmart.
They also sell several other AR versions like the Magpul version and the M4-A1 SOCOM version.

This year the standard LE6920 comes with the Magpul BUIS rear sight, no carry handle, no side sling swivel, one Magpul P-mag 30 round magazine, and the Rogers Super Stock.

This year, all Colt's come with one P-Mag, no sling, no cleaning kit, and either the Magpul BUIS or the Army standard Matech BUIS rear sight.

Walmart AR-15

Maybe they had the pricing wrong? Maybe the MP version should be 1400 and the base be the cheaper one?

The more expensive model may be a 6920 SOCOM

The WalMart here has a MagPul 6920 for around $1150-1200 and the SOCOM model with Knight's rails for $1400-1500.

My walmart had both the cheaper magpul one came with a magpul rear sight, a lil foregrip for the handguard, 1 pmag, and the m4 profile barrel.

The more expensive one was the socom with the rail system, a more expensive rear sight, unknown number of mags, standard stock and grip and the m4a1 profile barrel... I almost spent the extra just for the barrel profile...

The least expensive model is the base LE6920, which comes with a Rogers Super Stock, plastic M4 handguards, and the Magpul flip up rear sight. Walmart's price should be $1097 for that particular model.

They also carry the Magpul models which are nothing more than a 6920 with a set of Magpul's MOE furniture. These sell for $1167.

The most expensive model is the LE6920 SOCOM, which features a KAC M4 RAS, a heavy profile barrel, and a MaTech rear flip sight. These sell for $1400+.

Yep. These are starting to sit even at Walmart. Mine has 2 SOCOMs in the rack for $1495. These wouldn't have made it out of the box a month or two ago.

My local Wally World had 2 Colt SOCOMs, 1 6920, a Bushmaster, and a Windhelm in the case the other day when I went. Ironically there was only a single shotgun in the case opposite the rifles. And while the pre was plenty of shotgun shells and typical hunting caliber ammo, there was almost no pistol ammo or 5.56/7.62x39/7.62x51 ammo to be found.

A couple of weeks ago, the local Wal-Mart had 3 of the 6920's. Two of those came with 2- 20 round aluminum magazines.

Here is a current CDNN advert that has several models of Colt carbines. You can compare the prices to the ones mentioned at Walmart.

Lucky guy you are.

The Walmarts within driving range for me don't sell AR15's.

I'd be unwilling to purchase a firearm at Walmart. Why should I purchase a gun from a company who have signs for sale 3 isles down from Sporting Goods that say "No firearms allowed?" Along with that a company that is anti-gun themselves, I'll resist providing links as to not make this thread political. In the end giving money for firearms to a company that's anti firearms itself is just stabbing yourself in the back.

good god man they sale all kinds of signs not just no firearms allowed,if they are so anti gun why do they sell guns and ammo along with a whole assortment of hunting and target supplies at just about MSSP? how about all the stores and gun shows that did not want any black rifes or magizines displayed or sold. if you want go to your local gun store and pay hunderds of dollars more for your black rifles go right ahead. but by buying my ar,s at walmart i had enough money left over to buy a thousand rounds of ammo for both my ar,s, federal 100 round bulk boxes of .223 for 34.00 each and that comes out to 340.00 for a thousand. eastbank.

My local Walmart has quite a few AR15's in stock. They have the two Colts mentioned above, a Bushmaster, and a DPMS. They have been sitting for quite awhile now.

My local SuperWalmart gets them in occasionally. At one time they had all of the popular AR15's including the 22lr counterparts.

Somehow the cheaper and less popular ones get left unpurchased and the Colt's get bought first.

Don't forget Colt has actually added the "M4" roll mark, that has has to be a couple hundred there...lol. To be honest to the OP, there is no way of knowing unless we see the roll mars.

The more expensive on is the 6920 SOCOM. Mid weight barrel vs gov profile, ambi safety, matech buis(these are $120 retail) and KAC RAS($400 retail).

It was a SOCOM version of the M4 the Army used, but now the Army is moving to all M4A1's. the only diff is the civilian ones have a 16" barrel and S-1 FCG only.

The SOCOM is actually a good deal if you take into account the price of a new RAS and Matech which would be $520 retail for both. That means the base rifle is around $900.
