Reloading 44-40 is a learning experience itself.

The .44-40 and .38-40 just need a little extra care due to the thin case mouth. A bump on the bottom of the die that a .38 or .45 wouldn't even notice will crush the mouth of the dash calibers.

OK, then, if you know you want to shoot black powder cartridges, the .44-40 is probably a great choice.

In my club everyone pays the same entry fee to shoot a SASS match. In a way this is not quite fair, because the folks shooting black powder seem to be having twice the fun!

Los amigo's hablen a mi!

Regarding re-loading, I'm new to re-loading. I asked Brian Enos, if the 550B was equipped with a down tube - as an option, for charging black powder for my 44-40 cartridges. They stated no, Dillon doesn't provide that. I asked if Dillon provides a 44-40 case feeder for that round. They said, "no not recommended for a rifle round. Then I asked if Dillon supplies dies for the 44-40. They were very vague. I asked what dies do I need, more vagueness. 'Esquela me porfavor! Muchas gracias amigos!!

By the way, I have my scatter gun on the way! A Johnny Meadows prepped SKB 12 gauge SXS! Note: I may be slow, but slow in style!!

Another note; please excuse my poor Spanish, I'm learning via Rosetta Stone.

Muchas gracias amigos!

Hey Crunchy, I attended the National HOG rally in Greenville some time ago. I loved it - you folks made us feel very welcome. Thank you!! I saw the biggest State troopers I ever saw in Greenville. I saw many that were as big as a door opening. You grow them big down there!
