Actually found some 9mm, but...

I stumbled across some 9mm at a local place, at a time when I haven't seen any available for weeks now. One of them is TulAmmo, and the other is WPM Military Classic.
I've never used either one. I know the TulAmmo is Russian. Either brand is $19.99 a box, but they don't have a limit.
I typically shoot only 2 different brands; American Eagle and Blazer. Is this stuff I found decent, and would you pay $20 a box for it?

They work fine. As for the price...how bad do you want to shoot? People here want $40 for Winchester white box ammo in .45 acp. Which is why I handload my own.

TulAmmo has worked fine in my 45 cal, but my Bersa Thunder 380 doesn't do well with it. That has to do with extractor specs and case rim specs.

Try a box or two, and if the gun shoots well then you can get some more.

These past few months I buy what I can find and shoot what I buy.

Aimsurplus.com had Prvi Partizan PPU 9mm 115grn FMJ 50rd Box $13.95 yesterday evening with a 20m box limit, so better deals are out there.

It is OK ammo but they are asking $10 too much for it. IMHO

As others have said, no way it should be $20 a box. That's gouging of the first order.

You guys with your "gouging." There is no such thing. Don't like the price? Don't pay it. Sounds trite, but it really is as simple as that.

PASS.

$20 a box is far too much to spend for steel-cased 9mm.

That's my point. While I have seen brass cased ammo go for that much (I haven't paid for it) to pay that much for steel is madness. If you did a man from Sparta would likely kick you into a bottomless pit.

You are correct. While I replied earlier about my buying what I can find, I did leave out that I shop around until I find ammo at non-panic prices and then buy that ammo. That being the case, I am not brand specific.

I'm glad you gave me a chance to qualify my reply, giving bad information is something I don't like to do.

To the OPs original question, yes, it's probably fine but understand that it's also about the cheapest ammo you can get. It should be going for about $9.75 per 50 round box. For range plinking, you should be ok but I definitely wouldn't want it in a magazine if I was in a gunfight.

When Walmart has it in stock tulammo is 10.60 a box so yea that's about double. And like someone else said there going to keep selling at inflated prices as long as people will buy it.

It is fine for range practice/plinking.

I had a .57% fail-to-fire rate out of 700 rds (4 of them). So expect some of that.

Last weekend I snagged some American Eagle at .30/per, and Aguila at .34/per a month ago. .40/per for this stuff is too much.

If you're getting that locally send me a PM. I also happen to live in the land of dying hard.

I remember buying the TulAmmo for $10/box. At that price I would only buy it if I didn't have ANY. And I would not buy it to take it out to the range the next day...... Unfortunately, since all this nonsense I have not been shooting since like February..

I have a good bit stashed away but I don't want to have to replace it at current prices.

I've got some 9mm stashed also, and like some others I just haven't been shooting much. Kinda makes me wish I had kept my SR22, but I'm told even 22 is scarce right now.
I'm not sure I'll buy any of this ammo. The place is almost right on my way home from work, I may decide to stop in and buy a box of each....maybe.

That is alot

That is a lot to pay for that ammo. I am willing to pay slightly higher prices for primers and powder, but I have my limits. As far as ammo, I go to Big Name stores only, they tend to keep the prices normal. I go about 2 times a week on weekdays only, not weekends. I get there early and look. 95% of the time I leave empty handed. But I have been lucky 5% of the time and got good ammo and good prices. To do my part and help others, I have only picked up 1 box each time. I don't think I would pay that much for that brand. I have seen that brand in the past, and I have never bought it.
Good luck

Jay

TulAmmo is alright as far as pistol calibers, but that is too much. It is also worth noting that their ammo is quite dirty.

Morebullets- I picked up 100 round count .45 Winchester White box at Walmart for $45...... I didn't think that was too bad. I didn't know if you were referring to 100 or 50 round count boxes.

Pretty steep for non-reloadable blasting ammo. Yeah, yeah, you take what you can get.

Ya I bought 100 round boxes of Winchester .45 ACP for $40 each... They haven't raised the price since all this and there is always .45 ACP ammo on the shelf, also .380 and some odd ball rounds here at all of our stores. Lucky us to be in the only state with no conceal carry yet that noone buys .380. Liberal state of Illinois, for once I am grateful I live here since I find ammo I want. My uncle bought a 1000 rounds of 9mm two months ago for $199.00 deals are still alive don't pay $20 for 50 rounds of garbage ammo.

I don't like shooting steel case out of my nice guns. Russian ammo is fine for my AK, that's what it's made for. But I prefer to feed my guns brass. I've got a couple of boxes of Tul and Wolf sitting around as last ditch ammo if the world ends, but that's really what I see it for.

Boy, I must be lucky. I can still find 9mm ammo at my local Dicks' Sporting Goods for around $15 for a box 50 (generally PMC or American Eagle) or $28 for a 100 round box of WWB.
