NDTV article quotes Saltydog235 from TFL?

Quote:
On firearms discussion forum "The Firing Line," parents have been known to write enthusiastically about rifles purchased for children as young as three.

"I'm just excited he wants to hear it go bang and be there with me. I could care less what he hits, everything is a bullseye at this point," user Saltydog235 wrote about his four-year-old in 2010.
Don't know how I stumbled across this?

The article is about a youth that sadly killed a sibling using the Crickett rifle and the whole gun control debate.

I just founding slightly surprising to see The Firing Line and a member mentioned by his or her user name? Just thought I would post it for members to be aware of it and also as a warning to them be careful what exactly you type here... Never sure who is going to find a three year old quote and use it.

Just do a Google search on “Crickett Rifle” and the thread pops right up. It is good advice to remember there are a variety of eyes on whatever is posted here. However, I also don’t believe there was anything in the referenced thread that was necessarily inappropriate.

Threads, the wild wild web...

I've had a few interesting events with some of my forum posts.
I had someone mistake me for a guy who tracks & research about terrorists, .
About 3 months ago, I saw a search engine item where someone quoted my TFL post in what I think is Porguese.
They used my ClydeFrog name & remarks in a article about concealed vs open carry.

And this is exactly why we set high standards for conversations at TFL.

As Capt Charlie puts it in his sig line, "TFL Members are ambassadors to the world for firearm owners. What kind of ambassador does your post make you?"

It's been years since I stopped being surprised that TFL regularly pops up on Google when I search for something firearms related.

True i've seen TFL mentioned prior to this but never an actual username.

Many members have the send an e-mail link disabled but I do not. I have received some interesting e-mails from around the web/world/spectrum concerning threads I have posted on.
