Deleting an entire post ....

How does one fully delete an entire post (as opposed to having to insert " -delete- " so as to not run afoul of the minimum word count required to save the [now deleted] post change?)

As you've discovered, you can't completely delete a post. But if you send a PM to a staff member, we'll be glad to delete it for you. We do delete such posts when we see them, but we don't see everything.

I think you can edit everything out except subject line then type a period in post then hit save ?

Have Staff decide whether to delete posts or not. Otherwise, leave what you posted. If your statement is involved with the discussion and you delete it, it's a nightmare to clean up the content without disturbing the discussion at hand.

mehavey, when the staff see something like that, we invariably will delete it as being a "double-tap."

You could just edit the duplicate posts with that indication. At that point, not only will staff see it and understand, but so will the entire audience to the thread... Until one of us mods delete it/them.

Heck, I've seen it happen to a thread start, on several occasions. No big deal.

That's happened to me a couple of times when my internet connection is acting out. It looks like it's not working, but it's connecting behind my back, as it were...

No sweat, mehavey. You'd be surprised how often that happens. And make no mistake; it's appreciated you want to clean up the extra posts. But we can wipe the slate clean as a whistle.
