Read my earlier post. There is ABSOLUTELY NO PLACE for a long gun as a self-defense weapon in a vehicle. If you really need it, then it will be put away. If it is not put away (i.e. readily accessible in the front) then you are almost guaranteed to have legal issues (see the earlier posts from multiple people about the ramifications of having a loaded long gun in the vehicle).

Either get yourself a handgun or do without until you are legally able to have a handgun.

Stoeger coach shotgun fits the bill very well.

Hard to beat a good pump shotgun. My preference is a Remy 870 12 gauge with a 26 inch barrel.
