Handgrips

Ok 1, I would like to eventually buy some handgrips for my Stoeger. Some can be found relatively inexpensively. My concern is do they increase the grip size, or are they usually the same thickness as factory grips?

As with all things cosmetic, how many folks out there have actually found it worth the money to "customize" your pride and joy, even if said "pride and joy" is only $400 and your first handgun

Was thinking about NightSites too but that's another story

Good question, and I think there are some variables to consider. If it is a new gun at the $400 range maybe not. If it is used gun and a good quality gun, then maybe so if someone with bad taste has customized it.

I think it is more of a personal thing than a dollar value issue. I personally, like most owners, can envision the look with different grips. Does it please you, then yes by all means.

I have a used Haskell I paid $80.00 for used and no grips in this world is going to improve the appearance. I have a brand new Sig P220 I paid $570 for and new wood grips make a world of difference in my own mind over the plastic originals.

If you do change out new grips, my recommendation is to store the original grips with the new gun documents. Many tend to sell them to compensatefor the cost of the new grips. You do what you have to do.

To answer your question without all the above garbage, it simply depends on whether it makes the handgun better for you either appearance wise or functionally.

Changing out the grips for you didn't widen the grip at all? The $400 gun part doesn't have as much bear as it normally would as this is my FIRST handgun, and I would like to find something to make it flash a little without being obnoxious as I intend to carry it as well.
