Any other modern sa/da 3inch 45colts?

Besides the judge/governor style, and the Taurus M450. Are there any other modern sa/da 45colt revolvers being made? Something carryable?
And not some 50oz hand cannon in 454.....

Ruger Alaskan in 454. Will shoot 45 colt. Like a 38 spl. In a 357. It is a BIG snub nose . Used s&w model 25's. they go for a premium. I too would love a 45 colt double action. I sometimes carry my SAA Cimarron with a empty chamber under the hammer. I really like the diversity of the 45 colt round.

I think its nuts that I can get a new revovler in 9mm .40cal ect ect. But not in 45colt.

For a while Taurus used to make one but they no longer. I'm hoping maybe Charter Arms will make one.

Till then I'm waiting for my 4" Redhawk to come in. It's kinda hefty to carry around all day but it may be doable with the right rig.

Right now if I want to carry .45 Colt I have to use my Vaquero Birds Head.

You may be able to find a S&W 25 in .45 Colt on the used market. It is still a "modern" revolver.

Those are a bit pricey for a carry gun for me. As far as the Ruger, I own a 4 inch 44mag and the two rounds are so similar, Id find it redundant on my budget. I just want a 2 1/2-3 inch new 45 colt. I guess my only option is either a used M450, or a judge/gov. I'd love a GP100 in 45colt.

I was lucky to find this 625 with a 3" barrel. I was told there were only 200 made, but don't know if that is fact or not.

I am on the lookout for a 'modern' .45 Colt New Vaquero Birds Head Sheriff ... I think that will fill the bill for me. I believe there was a run of these by Lipsey or Davidsons but just haven't ran into one yet... Plenty 'modern' for me . Right now, I have to be 'satisfied' with a CA Bulldog in .44Spec which is ok ... but it sure isn't a .45 Colt!

Regarding the production figure, I don't know for certain either; however, your gun has features that are consistent with a whole series of Lew Horton distributor exclusives (3"bbl, SS, RB, wood stocks). AFAIK these were offered in virtually every modern N frame chambering and some versions were ported. Lew Horton would generally sell 200-300 of a certain version one year, but would often roll out a similar version a year or two later, with one or two minor changes.

IOW I don't know if your gun is one of only 200 sold total, or if it's one of 200 sold that particular year.

I'm sure that someone on the S&W forum can give you better info. I'm not an expert on these guns; I know just enough about them to identify one. I suggest posting that you think the gun is a Lew Horton.

AFAIK the .45 Colt guns have a longer cylinder and correspondingly shorter forcing cone than the .45ACP guns, so this project is more involved than a simple cylinder swap. I suspect you will need a new cylinder.

Also, I'm not sure whether the titanium cylinders offered on some M325 variants can be machined using the same methods as the stainless steel cylinders used on other versions. Perhaps someone with more gunsmithing knowledge than me will chime in.
