low smoking powder for 45acp fmj bullet

I am looking for ideas on a powder that does not put off large amounts of smoke like tite group. I shoot at an indoor range and after 100 rounds today I was choking on smoke. I would appreciate any input as I am new to reloading.
Thanks,
Tom

Hodgdon's Clays is pretty clean. With 200 gr. SWC, 3.8 gr. gave a velocity of 748 fps last time I checked it. Decent target load.

Ramshot ZIP will cover the full spectrum of .45 ACP loading from light cast lead loads to full velocity JHPs. It is a great .45 ACP powder and I get excellent accuracy with my ZIP handloads, and smoke is low. For light loads, WST is low smoke powder also. It burns clean, it just won't get you much performance with JHPs of FMJ. But for bunnyfart loads its excellent. ZIP is similar in burn rate to W231 which a lot of reloaders use. But ZIP burns cleaner and will give you better performance with JHPs and it does very well with low charges using cast lead bullets.

Titegroup is real smokey but I think it's a pretty clean burning powder as far as leaving residue behind.

I use Winchester Super Target (WST). I've never noticed a problem with it smoking much when used with FMJ bullets. It sounds like your indoor range might have a ventilation problem.

Clays, VV N310, Universal all burn clean for me.

It seems like single base powders or those with little nitroglycerin burn cooler and smoke less.

I'm in the middle of 8 pounds of Power Pistol, no smoke at all. I shoot 230 grain bullets in 45 auto.

I love how clean Blue Dot is for 9mm. Anybody use it for .45 ACP?

For .45acp...
700x with a cast bullet w/ wet lube gave-off enough smoke to obscure my targets and most of the targets of the guy next to me.
