Ruger SA .45 Colt blued Flattop (medium frame) 5 1/2"
Ruger SA .45 Colt blued New Vaquero (medium frame) 5 1/2"
Ruger SA .44 Special blued Flattop (medium frame) 5 1/2"
Ruger SA .22 Stainless Single Six 6 1/2"
Ruger SA .45 blued Old Army 7 1/2"

Must be a trend here I think....

[edited] These are the top five I've ever owned. Best shooters and the most fun.... ever.

Colt Peacemaker
Colt Python (blued, 6")
S&W .357 Mag. (N frame, 3.5" barrel)
S&W M1917
tie: S&W J-frame/Colt D-frame
I know that the last one/two actually encompasses about a dozen different guns, but there you go.

I like the classics. Although I'm on the fence about including the Python because, while it's a beautiful revolver, I'm scared I wouldn't shoot it, so I'm not including it here.

1. S&W 65/13 3 inch barrel.

2. Colt Detective Special snub.

3. S&W 29/629 4 inch barrel.

4. Ruger Blackhawk 45 Colt or 44 Special 4 5/8 or 5 1/2 inch barrel.

5. S&w 27/28 4 or 6 inch barrel.

Depends of it's use so a variety is needed

A revolver collection should cover target practice, plinking, varmint shooting, home protection, concealed carry and bear defense. I nominate the following with that criteria in mind:
1. Smith & Wesson 686+ 4" bbl. S&W revolvers are the best and I like having at least one revolver that can hold an extra round.
2. Smith and Wesson Model 29 44mag. If good enough for Harry Callahan, it's good enough for me.
3. Ruger Single Six (You choose the barrel length)
4. Colt Python, haven't shot one but with it's reputation...
5. Smith & Wesson J-frame snubbie in 38spl.
The 5 revolvers cover most above covers most needs but I wish the list could have had 7 because It's a pity I couldn't include the Colt 45cal 1873 Peacemaker with a 5.5 bbl and a 6" Smith & Wesson double action revolver in 22LR such a model 617 or 17.
