R1 Zombie has new clothes
Ok. Putting myself out here again for the laughter and the "Yuck" comments because I know there are others who did find the R1 Zombie gun to be interesting and will say nice things.
![]() Got the new grips in and I think they are looking good on the gun so I wanted to share with those who had asked for photos after I changed the grips. For those who somehow how missed the fun the first time I posted you can find it here with all the previous photos. [/URL]

While it may not necessarily be for me I still think it’s kind of neat. One thing I’ve learned during visits to art galleries is that not everyone has the same aesthetic taste, but hey that’s what makes life interesting.
So, what kind of holster do you have in mind? I hope you go with a unique and fitting carry rig to go along with the gun itself.

I like the new grips with it. Gives it a lot more personality (it had plenty to begin with, this just took it up a step).

I appreciate this weapon. I think it is great! I would not want one for the sole reason of not wanting to mark the finish. I am the type that doesn't mind wear marks on my weapons. I think it gives them character. I wouldn't take that too far from the box because it seems too cool for a clutz like myself to mess with.

I find this whole zombie thing to be rather cruel and demeaning...
ZOMBIES ARE PEOPLE TOO... or at least they were |

If it were anything but a 1911.
The whole zombie thing isn't my cup of tea, but durned if I don't believe that if some Hollywood producer saw that he'd want it for his next "walking dead" movie!

I like it, but what is not to like? Zombies are great, 1911's are great, a Zombie 1911 has to be fantastic. Good looking gun in my eyes.

I dont mind Zombie guns... I build an AR up with a Double Star Zombie Slayer lower because I got one on sale and I must admit I do love Zombie movies.
Personally that gun and those grips aren't for me.... but hey... you like em, so WHY NOT right lol. More power to you, don't like the stuck ups tell you otherwise. |

I find it entertaining, but please, please reassure us that you won't carry this for SD. That could cause you all sorts of problems if it ever were used...

I can appreciate it as a novelty piece, actually kinda reminds me of Slimer from ghost busters. Now if they made a Slimer Ghostbusters commemorative 1911 I might be all over that
Probably my favorite movie when I was a kid.If you are looking for more grips Hogue has a Zombie-X grip line and has a few different 1911 grips like these. http://www.hoguestore.com/index.php?...oducts_id=7896 http://www.hoguestore.com/index.php?...oducts_id=7895 |

I loved the ivory handled 1911's that Patton wore, and people have been decorating their weapons forever. I think it looks cool.
Do the grips function well enough to consider them a good trade off? |

I have to admit, it is different and one of a kind. Now I am a quite type of guy and to be honest, I wouldn't carry it in public.
In fact I wouldn't keep it in the same area with my other .45's for fear it may breed.

Looking good man. As long as you dig it, thats all that matters. Its no different than people bashing Glocks, Taurus, etc...

I thought the finish was kind of different and not necessarily in a bad way. The grips, however...

Take it to the range, keep it locked up in a safe otherwise.
Like the others said, that is in no way an SD gun. |

Zombie Hunters Unite! Wish I had something lower end than my Kimber. I love that look!
