Identifying old Asian rifle
A buddy of mine has a old rifle with some imprinting near the reciever on the barrel that looks like chinese or Japenese ( I don't know). It is a hammer with a rolling block in front of the hammer. Appears to be about a .45 cal. Just looking to see what it is and what it might be worth. Not sure how to post pictures, here is my email if that works to email them. Thanks, Steve

you can use the attachments tool to directly upload or you can link the URLS from photosharing sites like photobucket.

Looks a lot like a Remington M1867. If there are absolutely no marking on it it might be of local manufacture. The rear sight definitely looks hand made. The gun was pretty widely used in the Philippines, and they copied a lot by hand.

Looks like an Egyptian Rolling Block. The markings look like the worn Arabic writing usually seen on these.

Agree with TATER... as I have one, but mine has Remington stampings, so if doesn't have anything Remington on it, it could be something like a Kyber Pass copy... would need to see more detailed pics to know for sure...

I am inclined to the view that it is of mid-East manufacture.

It sure looks like an Egyptian Rolling Block. Years back a whole pile of them came in and were sold as "Wall hangers" only.
