Sig P232 disassembly problem

Hopefully someone has some advice for me on this. A new P232 will not come apart with the takedown lever engaged. This gun has never been apart and is only a month or two old. Any thoughts?

By "engaged" you mean the takedown level has been swiveled down? remove the magazine. Next cock the hammer and pull the slide all the way to the rear and lift. Where are you encountering difficulty?

With take down lever in the bottom position pull the slide all the way back and then upward.

Yeah; did all that. I even looked at the Youtube video. When the slide is pulled back after the takedown lever is engaged there is no, and I mean NO, indication of upward movement. It's as if the takedown lever is not functioning at all. This is of course with the mag removed and the chamber empty.

on the opposite side of the take down lever does the pin move when the take down lever is engaged? Mine has a notch at the top that rotates when I move the lever, also does it make an audible click when moved? It should do both.

Sounds like the lever pin has sheared off, is disconected. I've seen this written about in another forum. It lead me to be sure to lube the part's pivot points on the inside of the frame.

Yeah; the pin rotates. This isn't my gun but a coworker's who bought it for his wife a couple of months ago. And, he did not disassemble and lube it before shooting it; just shot some Remoil in strategic spots which was specifically what he was told not to do (by me).

As I've never had one of these apart I'm not exactly sure how the pin works to release the slide.
