Thoughts on a Sig p224
I have read several articles on the New Sig P224. I currently own a Sig p229 with both .40 cal and 357 Sig barrels. They say the 229 mags will work in the 224 but only the newer 229 mags. What indicates a newer mag? Anyone n
know of the year of newer mags? Just a little confused. Thanks For Any Info |

This only applies to P229 9mm mags. The .40 and .357 mags have not changed so yours should work.
The newer 9mm P229 mags are labeled 229-1 and have a capacity of 15rds instead of 13. The mags are also wider at the bottom and taper, or bottleneck in about 2/3s of the way up (same profile as .40/.357 P229 mag) because they are designed to fit the new 9mm P229s that are based on the .40/.357 P229 frame with its wider magazine well. The P224 evidently also has the wider mag well. |

Ok that answers that question. Can anyone tell me if they have the p224 in a 40 cal with the DAK trigger on how well it shoots and handles with the short grip. I like the p239 but I do not want to lose the capacity of the double stack magazine.

Not if the 9 mm is available in this model but would like to know if anyone has one and how they like it.

Sorry, I don't have one ... yet, but I'm looking real hard at a DA/SA 9mm P224 Extreme when they become available. There are 9mm P224s out now, but I'm not sure which models.
