S&W Model 66-3 price
I was in the gunshop earlier today and saw a Smith and Wesson Model 66-3 for sale. It has a 2.5 barrel and and wooden round butt grips. The price was $495. I think it sounds like a fair price but is it a good price? If it had a 4 inch barrel I would have grabbed it in a heartbeat.

The 66 Snubs are usually the ones demending a higher price than 4" guns....That's a fine price in todays market. If you don't buy it, share the location with the rest of the Forum. It will be gone in no time.....Zebulon

I would agree, sounds like a fair price in today's market. If it passes inspection, I'd offer $460 cash plus tax and see what happens.

Having shopped around a bit for these, I think that $495 is as good a price as you're likely to find, especially if it's in excellent condition. If you prefer a 4" barrel, you can probably get it for this much or less. As mentioned, these shorties have a higher market value. They're great carry guns.
If you can work it down even more, you can pat yourself on the back for getting a great deal. |

Hate it when that happens! In today's gun market, you gotta move fast if you find something you want. |

I know! Stuff is being snatched up real quick. Had it been a 4 inch model I would have waited the ridiculously long wait to pick it up since that's what I really want. Oh well, next time I suppose.

i hope you are kicking yourself for letting that one get away.
K frame snubbies are getting hard to find and pricey. 4" service guns are still pretty common but still command mid to high $400s if they are in good condition. |

I just paid around $500 a piece for a 4" 66 no dash, and a 4" 66-1, I think $465 for a snubbie (which go for more than the 4") is a deal.
