Maybe it's just me but I think a Glock 22 is about a beauty of a gun. Not to mention a pure workhorse.

No, and all the pics of plastic guns on this thread just prove it. If I had just one gun for self defense then I would not care what it looked like as long as it worked.

I'm fortunate enough to be able to buy guns for more than just utilitarian purposes and when I do I like to buy guns which are both functional and beautiful.

To some extent I agree that beauty is in the eye of the beholder but I can't imagine anybody who thinks that Rosanne Barr is more beautiful than Sophia Loren. Same goes with plastic vs. metal guns.

I am of the opinion that simple, sleek designs look pretty good. Don't hang me, but I think a few of the 1911's that some people revere as looking great are kind of gaudy. That's not to say that I think all 1911's look gaudy or all polymers look sleek and sexy, but its just a general opinion. It may also be a generational thing, I'm in my early 20's if that says anything.

Edit: I told my wife about this post and she looked through the guns. All she had to say was, you all would think they looked the same if a sexy woman was carrying it. LOL

Being a college kid, they are way out of my budget... but my goodness, they are worth what they ask for them.

I want a pretty gun too but more than that I use my gun as a duty gun. It must be reliable, accurate, light, and a pure workhorse. Looks are way on down the line. Yea, I love my Glock!

I have been shooting for over 40 years and (as a former PI) carrying one. Yes steel is lovely but these guns have draw-backs. They are heavy (even my snub nose 38) when you have to carry one for hours. They rust and the finish wears. Sure my Glock is polymer and black but how about one with half stainless and half polymer (like my SCCY 9mm). If pretty is your goal then get a pearl handled nickel plated one. If being practical is the wish, then a polymer one is just right.

4 pages of members posting pics of Glocks and no mention of the HK P30 or HK 45. My P30 is quite attractive.

I own lots of metal SIGS and Kimbers and definitely appreciate the beauty of metal...HK came pretty close with those two!
