Serial Number lookup

I have had a S&W passed down to me from my wife's grandfather. The serial number from the best I can tell is 222992. Any help on age of this pistol? Thanks.

Need more information (caliber, finish, type[break top, hand eject, ect.] or some pictures. S&W can have the same number on several different models and different dates of manufacture.

While you are looking, can you give any info on the mod. 66-3, 4" I just picked up on a private sale? Serial BHF87** , this thing is gorgeous and feels like a dream. Gonna take her out to the range today...

Your 520 is one of the later mfg. with only 147 left on the run.
