I have a stock I can help you with but it has everything except the buffer tube (receiver extension) buffer and spring. His old buffer and spring will work with a spacer that you can buy but he still would need an A1 tube. PM me if you can use it.

Take a look and see if this will work. http://www.policestore.com/firearm-a...d=avant&ch=aff
There is a 1" spacer made to use an A2 stock on an A1 buffer tube.

If hes using an A1 stock, make sure the upper stock screw (the one with the hole in it) is an A1 screw.

If you use the A2 screw, you will get all sorts of intermittent feeding issues that will drive you nuts.

Make sure he is using a rifle length buffer too. Using a carbine buffer with a rifle buffer tube will damage the lower receiver's rear ring.

Or use the spacer slappy posted about.

Keep in mind the 7.62 AR has a longer bolt carrier and well use a longer RE or shorter buffer. Most 7.62 fixed butts are A1/2 style with a 1/2" shorter rifle buffer.
