6.5 grendel innaccurate?

A friend mentioned today that his 6.5 grendel is not accurate. His best shooting (dont know if he grouped) was 1.5 moa at 200 yds using 100 grain match Hornady. Everything heavier was worse. He said that he had sent the upper and barrel back to AA in october; they said all was fine. Interestingly, he didnt know the riflng.

Thoughts?

Biggest limitation to accuracy is the person behind the rifle
If that's good, change ammo as different rifles prefer different loads and bullets.

All my guns are more accurate than I am capable of shooting.

Your friends problem is not caused by the caliber. I've shot a couple Grendels that were Sub MOA without even trying.

Ive shared what he told me. Who knows ha he left out? But if as he said that our mutual friend did the shooting, its the gun.

Is it possible that his lower may not be a good fit?

Thanks,
John

What "inaccurate" rifle did he sell before getting the Grendel?

100 gr is pretty light for the 6.5mm... A good match bullet for a 6mm gun is the 107 gr SMK.

Maybe someone should try to work up a load with a 123 gr SMK? Or even an A-Max's in the same weight?

I question your friend more than I question the gun.
