clearing out components, have no idea what is worth

Mods if this is in the wrong place, I apologize and ask you to move or delete if appropriate.

I found about 2100 Hornady 50 grain Vmax in the cabinet, maybe 3000 BR4 primers, 1000 CCI small rifle mag primers, maybe 600 55 gr Vmax bullets, 1000 Sierra 5o gr Spitzer blitz bullets. I have no use for this stuff and thought I would attempt to sell or trade for stuff I will use.

Anybody have an idea where I should start, price wise these days?

Thanks in advance.

Future posts be advised the OP is asking what is fair for price on said items. Keep it strictly on this topic. If it goes downhill to a buy/sell thread, it will be deleted.

I don't know anything about the bullets, but I would suspect that the primers would fly out of your hands at $60.

Thanks Shane, will do!

+1 on $60 per 1k for the BR4 primers, if you can sell them locally.

.17 @ for Hornady 50-55g was the 500 ct price at gun shows around here back in December. I wouldnt sell them for less than .35 @ today if I could use them myself and only would only part with half my stash then, because I would want to keep some for friends. If I had "no use for them" I would sell them for .20 to .25 @. Given that, I would also want to sell the components with my dies as a package deal for twice what I paid for them too. All in one lot.

In all seriousness, if you aren't selling your dies, why would you sell the components.

YMMV

rough country cyphering

I would say the primers should go around $39.00 per thousand.4000 primers @39.00= $156.00

2011 50 gr. vmax. They usually go for about $65.00 per 500. (assumining
they are for 223) so there are a little over $260 or so there. the 11 would be .11 x 11= .22 Total this line $260+.22=$260.22

600 pc 65 grain vmax about the same as the 50 grain v max(per pc) $500 ps = $65.00 plus 100 @13cents each all told this line= $65.00+$13.00=$80.00

1000 pc sierra 50 grain spitzer blitz bullets, about $1450 per hndred o)r about.
(I wish these were blitz kings so 14.50(one bx)x10 =145.00

2111 50 gr vmax @65.00 per 500= $260.22
600pc 65 gr vmax @ 65.00 per 500 x 4=$260.00 +100 pc @13 cents each(13.00) $260.00 +13.00=$273.00 this line .
$156 for the primers 156.00 primers
$262.22 for the 50 gr. v max 262.22 50 gr, v max
$80.00 for the 65 gr v max 80.00 65 gr v max
$145.00for the 50 grspitzer blitz 145.00 50 gr spitzer
Total 643.22
This is my take on the items, maby give a discount if all taken, also there may be some fees on the primers. Its pretty late double and tripple my math before posting this. I assume zero liability for errors of any type

Hope this helps,Leonard

2-3 months ago, yea they probably would, but in a world of supply and demand, $60+ for benchrest primers sounds about right to me The supply is too low for the demand.... I'm not saying I like it, but that's the way it is right now. If you don't want to pay inflated prices, you just have to wait it out, those with a surplus are in a good position right now. Those dumb enough to pay it (hello, do you not remember 2008/9/10? you didn't stock up during 2012?) will be happy to have them...

I would agree with you here. But $60 per 1,000 primers. Don't lead the OP to think about selling them at $60 for the full batch of 4,000 primers, let's be fair here.

I have to agree. Primers are selling roughly $40-$45 /1000. There is stuff marked $60/1000, but it doesn't sell.

Thanks guys. I have some good idea now.

As for dies, I just don't sell my dies. I have dies for calibers I haven't loaded in 20+ years, brass and some loaded ammo too. Remember the 7mm BR? Yep have the dies and a bunch of ammo... no pistol to shoot it in! LOL. I keep that stuff because you never know... one day I might get another Remington pistol.

I'll try to sell some of this stuff locally.

Regards,
Stubb.

Funny, I just bought some used 7mm BR dies a few months ago. I have a nice Remington XP-100 to launch them out of.
