I could of swore I heard from many including Obama, "We don't want to punish the law abiding gun owners".
Yet the penalty for have a legally bought firearm and magazine, in which you must destroy, without compensation. To keep it for your own self defense is a felony. The jail time is more for this, than the thug gets for using a gun in a crime.
Now is that just me or are we getting punished, while the cause of the problem walks?

"To keep it for your own self defense is a felony."

But not if you consent to confiscation when the time comes.
