Why is government stockpiling guns, ammo?

I am really worried about this. Why does the civilian Department of Homeland Security need billions of rounds of ammunition? Why is it getting larger than our military ?

This writer has several reason and I don't like any of them.

Over the weekend also, Jesse Jackson called for the Department of Homeland Security to help patrol the streets of Chicago to deal with soaring gun violence in the city I am sure their are many of us that remember after Hurricane Katrina the Feds and the police conficated legally owned weapons from citizens and leaving them defenseless.

Is this the type of government interferrence that we could be facing in the future, that after every tragedy, we could see. ? Should I be worried or am I just be paranoid ?

How many times does this need to come up?

1) DHS is a huge organization, including but not limited to border patrol, ICE, secret service and coast guard.

2) They don't possess the ammunition. It was a purchase contract for 5 years, to purchase UP TO the amount.

3) If anyone would bother to fact check or do the math, it would quickly become apparent 1.2 Billion rounds is really not all that much even if they did possess it all at once.

People like Farah are no better than the anti's who spout that 40% of all gun transfers are done without background checks. It's flat out lies and misinformation.
