Which action for a carry gun?

Just curious, what's your preference? Do you prefer Double Action Only?
How about Single Action? Or Double and Single Action? Or are you a striker fire snob? As I said, this is for my own curiosity only.

Single Action only ...in a 1911...( 5", full sized) is my primary carry gun...

I will also occasionally carry a 4" K frame S&W revolver in .357 mag ...( so DA...or SA ) and I train both ways, with the revolver...

I have a few Sig Sauers that are DA/SA but I only rarely carry them ....

I keel going back and forth on this.

My Kahr has a great DAO trigger.

My CZ has a nice DA/SA pull, and with it's lightened hammer spring my first shot really isn't thrown off all that much. Pull the gun, shoot.

My other CZ is being converted to SAO. It'll take some getting used to but having a constant trigger pull from the start is nice. I just have to gain muscle memory to swipe off that safety first.

Prefer SA. I carry a 1911 cocked and locked. Having shot 1911s for so long I struggle adjusting to a DA trigger. However, I will say the Sigs with the newer Short Reset Triggers are pretty nice.

I have revolvers and semis in DA/SA, SA, and DAO. It's all good so long as you practice with each gun.

DA/SA - I don't like the high pull of the DA but it is suppose to be less of a liability in court than SA only. The other problem is high DA pull weight can lead to loss of accuracy because pulling the trigger takes so much effort.

DA/SA for me. Occasionally I carry striker fired or single action but DA/SA 99% of the time

Striker-fired, glock specifically. I have a few DA/SA's and a 1911 but the glock is my go-to. Consistent manageable trigger, safe, easy to operate and no manual safety. About the only one I don't like is DAO autos.

I know many shooters will

at this, but I like to carry a SAO 1911 with the hammer lowered to half-cock on a loaded chamber. At half-cock, the pistol cannot fire - period. You can pull the trigger all day long and the hammer won't fall. You can drop the pistol on its hammer and it will not fire. After a little practice, I can draw and cock the hammer with my thumb in one smooth motion.

I like my Kahr K9, which is DAO. A SA trigger would be a little light for me in a high stress situation and I don't like carrying safety on.

I've shot a DAO trigger more than any other type as well so I'm very used to the long pull on my Kahr. It just leaves less room for error and I don't have to worry about a safety.

DA/SA, although I have no problem with SA or striker. In fact I often carry an HK P7 which is striker fired, but not pre-cocked.

Not a fan of DA/SA triggers, and I don't like the idea of fumbling with a safety on a weapon I might need to use to save my life or the life of my family.

My primary is Striker Fired.
Back up is a DA "Hammerless" revolver.
