EOTech QD mount from Larue
Considering the LT110 QD mount for my XPS2. Interested in knowing if raising the optic .275" will make much of a cheekweld difference?

Not much of a difference in cheek weld. Especially since the reticle will move with your head. It will move your absolute cowitness to a lower 1/3rd.

Yeah, with modern CQB optics like EOTech and Aimpoint, you aren't needing a cheek weld, you just need to see the reticle. Mounting the optic slightly higher for a lower 1/3 cowitness can help keep your head more upright, potentially making things more comfortable for you as well as maybe speeding things up a bit.
I have Aimpoints, but I do prefer the lower 1/3 cowitness to absolute. |

That might be the way to go. Plus there's enough room on the mount to put a magnifier behind the RDS.

somebody was making a big thumb screw to replace the allen keyed screw that is used on the standard mount. this is a much cheaper solution that won't change the height.

Have you looked at the GG&G's QD mounting system? I use their Eotech QD system along with their lens caps on one of my Eotechs. I like them because they add no height to the sight. They make good stuff but make sure you get the right one for your sight.
