Ruger 10-22 is old ammo ok ?

I recently got out my 1980 vintage 10/22.
Cleaning out , i found some old 22lr ammo . I,ll guess 1970s vintage..some cci,remington
Hornet. Win. T22 and a bunch of misc.
Does 22lr go "bad" ? It looks in good shape.non of the cases are oxidized.

Use it ? Or gun show it @ $5 a round

I would not give it a second thought and shoot it. I have shot some very old .22 without any problems. ...

Some of this old stuff, in the original box, can be very collectable and you would have to find a collector to better define the value. I recal selling a brick of Peters, .22 shorts, for $100.00 ...

Shoot it. But, as Pahoo said, boxes of some ammo are becoming highly collectible.

Just be alert for a possible squib (stuck in barrel) round. It will sound different. I regularly shoot .22 rounds purchased in the seventies and have not noticed any higher rate of misfire than new rounds.
