870 police magazine retention spring installer tool

We have quite a few 870 Police magnums that have a metal magazine Spring Retainer. I was advised by remington that they sell a tool kit that contains a Magazine Retention Spring Retainer Installer Tool, which makes placing the retainer an easier task. The kit comes with many tools and is rather expensive. Would anyone know if this tool is sold by a third party company? These metal plugs are not the screw intype and are somewhat difficult to put back in.

Thank you.

Once you figure out the technique of installing and removing them, it's really rather easy.

However, Brownell's sell special tools:

Note the videos on how they work.

Thank you Defariswheel

Thank you. We strip down, oil and then wipe dry a bunch every week and I hope this will make it a little easier.

Have a good weekend.
