GEICO is anti gun....read
![]() After seeing this, which is a friend of mine, I cancelled my Geico policy and went with another carrier. I have two cars, a truck, and two horse trailers so they lost a solid customer because of their idiocy. |

FYI, you can still read the blacked out parts. Try blacking them out on the computer. I'm glad I'm with the other anti-gun insurance agency. Seriously, though, we need to switch as well.

While it certainly looks bad, how do we know it's not a standards issue(ie, the vehicle being used isn't secure enough or something) and not an anti gun issue?

Cancel your Geico policy. It's so easy a caveman could do it.

Has anyone contacted Geico for clarification of this policy?

Try contacting GEICO
and you'll get some monkey on the phone who knows nothing about nothing except how to fill in the blanks on a computer screen. I fired them years ago due to a wholly different but equally stupid decision they tried to impose on me. Long gone are the days when they offered good rates to servicemen and gov't employees, and were sort of like the credit union of insurance companies.
search around. You will probably find much better rates anyway.

I need to cancel my progressive policy also. I expect high rates when I drive the sexiest sports car know to man, the chevy Chevette, but I can't have my money going to anti gun BS.

Might not be as simple. I generally trust Snopes, and it's still undetermined...

thx for this info. geico is much more highly overpriced than people realize anyways, so this just provides more reason.

My policy (Not Geico) has exclusions if I try to use the vehicle for business purposes. In other words if I turn my pickup into a delivery truck they will cancel my policy.
Anyone else find it strange it was mailed on 6 December?

Try Erie Insurance if they write policies in your area.
I've been with them for decades. When I talked to my agent (who lived in and worked out of Washington, DC) about a policy rider for my firearms, he didn't even blink when I told him how many I had, or how much I thought I needed in insurance.

Looking through the blacked out portions it was already a business.

http://www.gunadapters.com/ Still, crappy on Geico--I won't enjoy their commercials much the same anymore. Also, here is a link with this same picture/letter from 3 days ago http://theconservativetreehouse.com/...earm-business/ and here http://fromthetrenchesworldreport.co...usiness/32698/ It is also out at about a thousand other sites…which is great;spread the word. Apparently Progressive has the same rule.

I never had Geico to begin with due to a very bad, yet unrelated, experience that a family member had several years ago. I've always been with State Farm because their rates aren't significantly higher than anyone else, they've always treated me well, and I like being able to actually walk into my agent's office and speak with him rather than calling some 1-800 number. I cannot, however, speak to any policies State Farm has about firearms though as the issue has never come up for me.
