Colt official police from 1937
Picked up this pistol. Was wondering what value might be. great condition. I would say 95% will post picture soon.

Pictures will be necessary for any real evaluation. In average good condition, those go for around $300, but a real 95% would probably go around twice that. A really nice one (100% or LNIB) will go close to $1000 and there are some, like the round butt that will exceed that.
Those guns are sleepers; I expect them to take off in the next few years as collectors realize that that whole Colt area has been almost ignored. Jim

Around here prices run a little higher than that. An OP in better than average condition will be tagged around $450.00 and go for $400.00.
I had a really nicee 1939 OP that I sold a year or so ago for around $500.00 (I forget exactly now) but it had an agency marking that this one fellow really wanted.
