Glock Gen 4 now coming with 2 mags instead of 3?

I have read some post in various forums where people said they "heard" Glock Gen 4s were now coming with 2 mags instead of 3. Can anyone confirm this with a purchase they actually made (not just heard about)? Maybe a dealer or shop owner? And if you did get a G4 with 2 mags can you confirm the box said 2 mags also?

I bought my gen 4 and it came with the 3 mags. If you just heard this, I'm curious to know too.

I don't think they're do that just yet. Wouldn't they wait it out a few? Till the dust settles on the impending "gun ban" or "capacity lessening" to magazines?

Maybe cause they want to put more out there for individual sales since this who thing is happening because of recent events?

Beats me. Just my 2.

I read it on a local (TN) gun forum. A couple of posters saying they got G4s with 2 mags and the box says 2 mags. I personally suspect that got G3s. I searched google and found a random post or 2 on other boards, But wanted to see what the experts here said.

And before anyone suggest going to the Glock forum, I tried to register but for some reason could not

I work at a high-volume gun shop. We sell a ton of Glocks. Every Gen 4 I've seen recently (including the ones I sold today) still comes with 3 mags. If anyone ever got a new Gen 4 with only 2 mags I'm guessing it's because the dealer took one out of the box so he could sell it - Glock mags are getting scarce these days.

I bought one two days ago and it came with three mags. The dealer did not mentioned anything about reduction in mag going forward.

Sig Pro shop is completely out of high cap mags for the P229. Selling only 10 rd mags now. They have a direct line to the factory. I wonder if Glock is having a similar problem and only providing two mags with each gun.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's another possibility too. Non-gun owners as of a few months ago are suddenly guns owner and intrigued by weapons suddenly. Due to recent events. Makes sense.

That was on of Glock 4th generations key selling element. 3 mags, back straps, and RTF. Being standard. Probably a temp thing.

It could be. During the 2009 shortages, Sig Sauer shipped pistols with only one magazine for awhile. The idea was to get the guns to market, and consumers could later call and get the 2nd magazine.

I'm picking up a 4th Gen 23 in the morning. I'll let ya'll know how many mags it comes with. When I ordered it, I assumed it would come with 3, I didn't ask though.

That'd be great. Please post back here with the result.

Although, it's not in stone because it could have been sitting for a while before this happened.

That was the first thing I thought as well. I picked one up last week and it came with 3 mags (dated 12/12).

That said, similar polls reveal that more and more of the remaining buyers are purchasing them for self-defense. A greater percentage of owners in previous decades had guns for hunting and/or keeping pests away from their crops and livestock. America's populace continues to become more urban and gun owner demographics are changing.

My Gen 3 G20 came with 2 mags. I made the mistake of ordering the 10rd mag version when I ordered from Buds but, I was able to get 4 15rd mags before they sold out everywhere.

You should be so lucky. My Sig SP2022 came only with one mag. Customer service claims all their polymer pistols come with only one.

One of the big selling points of the SP2022 is it's price. Basically, you can get a Sig for less than a Glock. Oh, but we're going to hose you on mags. And when you want to buy more later, we're going to charge you $15 more than Glock does per mag!

The 2022 is a good gun, but for those of us who like having a bunch of magazines, you're not really going to save any money.

G21 Gen4 purchased 3 months ago came with 3 mags, I bought 2 more for it just before the run on all the guns and ammo.

If they are decreasing what is happening? Are they dying, going to jail, or selling all their guns? For it to be decreasing that means previous gun owners are no longer gun owners. I don't know anyone that had gotten rid of their guns, but I know a lot of new owners.

Glock 17C came with 2 mags. Box was marked the same. I believe this is actually a Gen 3 gun, not for sure. Manuf. date was 3-2012. I was hoping it came with three as well.
