Car Safety/Gun Safety

I have several friends who are anti gunners. So I posted this on my Facebook wall.

Cars ought to be limited to a maximum speed of 25 mph along with a 1500% tax on gasoline. Niether should cars have the ability to carry more than 2 people. The only cars able to travel at speeds greater than 25 mph ought to be law enforcement and emergency services. Afterall, why do civilians need a car that could potentially drive at 100 mph??? That is ridiculous and not at all sensible. We need sensible cars for responsible car owners.
A car limited to 25 mph with its 2 cylinder engine would not only save thousands of lives of innocent Americans each year, it would be better for the environment and help slow global warming. The job of law enforcement would be so much easier and safer. If just one life were saved by sensible laws would they not be worth it? Only a crazed, fringe, NASCAR wannabe would object to such a well thought out piece of legislation. If you love children you would not drive more than 25 mph. So lets here it for commonsense regulations to make cars safer for everybody.

EDIT: If you think busses which are capable of holding 40 people all at the same time are a good idea, then you are just sick!

That is awesome! And marbles should be the size of basketballs so kids cannot swallow them!

Read Obama's proposed measures. He wants an add campaign (much like the seat belt adds) to run as PSA's. I've got no problem with that. We have kids shot every year because their parents didn't pick up the guns and put them away. A little common sense is fine with me.
Ever been to the gun range with some novice that just bought their first gun? Can be very scary. Safety training first, gun second.

loltraktor1918, Nicely put. I'd be curious about what sort of comments/feedback you're getting on Facebook.

dlb, that is a different issue from banning weapons because they seem scary, which seems to be the main reason behind this latest ban. Notice how Diane Feinstein from California is not doing anything at all about the violence coming out of Hollywood. Hmmm, I wonder why.

Think about how many children are blooded and killed every year. If you don't get behind this, you have their blood on your hands.

If we only save the life of one child with this legislation, it would be worthwhile.

BTW, if Diane Fienstein had even one moral fiber, should support this and dedicate her life to banning bath tubs and ladders. Although, ladders might be better covered by having them registered after a full FBI background check is performed.

Guns are harmless compared to these 3 child killers!

It isn't like we are calling for an outright ban of cars. Except for high powered sports cars that no one needs. And large trucks. No honest man needs a truck that carries 100 tons. The maximum should be one ton for all trucks in civilian hands. These are just reasonable legislation to save lives.

Copied it to another site, and someone is already copying to another - this could go viral on the net........

MAYBE, everyone should copy paste this to their elected representatives and MAYBE some of them will finally see the ridiculousness of the whole thing

He wants an ad campaign that "promotes gun safety" as much as I want blue hair and a nose ring. (1)

What he wants is an ad campaign that frightens the daylights out of most folks ignorant about gun safety. I've got a problem with that.

I would sooner trust Bernie Madoff with my life's savings.

(1) EDIT: if *YOU* - whoever is reading this post - want blue hair and a nose ring, but support RKBA, then knock yourself out. It's your hair and your nose, just like your guns are yours and my guns are mine.

Or they shot and killed the kid and called it an accident. Are we really going to spend $100,000,000 a year to try to save some of the 50-60 kids who are killed each year because their parents are too stupid to secure their weapons properly? I guess if it saves even one life....

And no cars within 1000 feet of any school , including law enforcement vehicles. I interviewed and polled all the kids here , and them kids are very clear. After that one kid was in a car accident , the kids don't even want cars in or at their school. And they are 8 or 10 years old , so they should know right ? How many more car accidents and how many more lives must be lost. If your car goes more than 25 the Government should just buy all those cars back. All those politicians who bailed out the automakers are personally to blame for all the lives lost daily in auto accidents. Several more victims will needlessly die in the time it takes to read this post. When will Americans stop the carnage, There is no constitutional right to drive.

While we're at it, let's limit swimming pools to 25 gallons. who needs a pool bigger than that anyway?

That would be cool. I like the idea of sending to our political 'leaders.' I will certainly do that.

Do you think a bus is kind of like having a high capacity magazine? Seems tome a bus is just totally dangerous and uncalled for.

you guys are going to be so mad when some congressman takes up the cause and wants to compromise. Because I am sure there are some politicians who want to reduce the speed limit drastically, tax gasoline much higher, and tax the crap out of pickup trucks.

Certainly no busses with their capacity of holding 40 children all at once. that is a definite no, no.

The sad thing is that you're about right if you look at the number of hours on my truck... and how many miles it has.

Ive averaged under 30 MPH for that last 10 yrs
