Ruger sr1911 vs kimber stainless II

I am looking for a good 1911. I'm considering the ruger sr1911 for the good price and thought about a kimber. Any thoughts? I've heard of kimbers having failures the eject and extract and feed. I've also heard of the ruger not having the best quality due to high demand. I've also considered a Springfield but am not real big on the idea of a brazil made gun even if it is good quality. I'm also open to other options you might have... Preferably under 1000 bucks

I'd lean towards the Ruger of the two. I think STI makes a few good 1911s for $1k.

You really get what you pay for when it comes to 1911s

Yeah I can say Sti makes a great 1911 I have the guardian and loving it, they make it in 45 as well as 9mm.... Never have had a problem and the guys over there are great if you have and issues

I have recently had the opportunity in taking the ruger to the range and is also a great firearm accurate with goodbuild quality, I had a couple of feeding issues but it was also a brand new magazine. I do however have to say go the extra mile and spend a bit more and get a 1911 that your going to love and personally I would stay away from kimbers, just doesn't seem the have the quality they used to have for the price..

But just my 2 cents

My Ruger 1911 has been perfect out of the box! Accurate and runs all ammo types I have used. Great gun for the price.

Kimber. Although there is nothing wrong with the Ruger either.

I'd go with the Ruger. Never had a Ruger that didn't work out of the box. I can't say that for the Kimber.
