To me, the only Sig that strikes the right balance of size, weight, and capacity is the P229. P220 too big for capacity, P239 too heavy for capacity.

It's hard to vote against the 1911 because of the history of the design. That said, I love the 229. You can convert between .357 Sig and .40 S&W by just swapping the barrel.

Thanks for all the replies so far guys. I'm leaning towards the P226 or 229 in .40. I'm also interested in the 1911 and P250. Heck if I can get two, I just might lol.

226 or 229 in 9 or .40.
Sigs are awesome heirloom guns. Whether you ever shot it, or just left it in a case on your mantle, that's going to be a powerful reminder of where you've been. Good stuff, sir.

Voted 226. The 1911 is timeless, but not really as a Sig. The 226 is a horse, man! You also get more caliber options and better capacity.

I voted for the 226 even though I don't own one. I did buy a few weeks ago a Sig Pro 2022 in 40 ca. Its a good reliable gun. I also have the only reliable Mosquito
Sig ever made.
