Trade a trp for 229s?
I have been offered a sig 229s and cash for my Springfield trp. I have zero experiences with sig. So if any one has experience with a p229 sport please post your opinion of it

The 229 is a superb pistol. In my highly predjudiced opinon, the finest 40 calibre pistol in the world.

No way I'd trade my TRP for anything that left exeter. Go to SIG forum and ask the same question.

I wouldn't trade a TRP for anything. I love mine too much.

If you have never shot a Sig 226 or 229, then you don't know what you're missing. Go rent a 229....or find a friend who has one. Shoot one, then decide.

My friend has one in 9mm.
It's probably the only Sig I like. That being said the transition from your SAO/safety TRP to hard DA first pull will be awkward. The slide lock and decocker lever are a bit fiddly IMO. |

To be honest the trp spent more time in the safe than on my hip. I did ent up making that trade. In the end I got the sig p229 sport, 6 mags, 250 rounds of fmj, 200 rounds of hollow points hst's and Winchester; and & $300 for the trp.
This is my new sig ![]()

Well, then I guess I'm too late to offer an opinion.

You manned on up and made the trade. You feel you did right? You did right.
I personally would have kept the TRP and put that SIG on layaway. lol On the other hand, darn nice SIG you got there man!

the way i looked at it i wanted a special forces ed brown with a few custom options that would have necessitated ordering it from ed brown and waiting on the lengthy wait period to have the gun made. so i bought the trp. its hard to say i settled for the trp but that is basically what i did. so now i own a pretty unique sig (google it for full details), and have an excuse to start squirreling away for the ed brown i originally wanted. now the only problem with the plan is the darn nighthawk t3 making me doubt the ed brown choice. but hay at this point i have time to mull that one over

geetarman: the thing on the end is a compensator. people swear it makes recoil less noticable. however my plan is to remove it when my suppressor comes in and replace my rear sight with a trijicon rmr

Here are some directions to Rio Salado.
http://www.riosaladosportsmans.com/ Great place to shoot and some of the best shooters in the world compete regularly in matches there.
